It's playoff season, and Cathedral Catholic's athletes are ready to compete for CIF championships! Several Dons teams have secured top spots in their respective divisions and are set to take on the best in San Diego. Here's a look at the upcoming matchups:
GIRLS WATER POLO – CIF DII SEMIFINALS
#1 Cathedral Catholic vs #5 Del Norte
Thursday, Feb. 18 | 5:45 PM | at Coggan Family Aquatic Complex (La Jolla HS)
After an outstanding season that saw the Dons go undefeated in Eastern League play and finish with an impressive 22-4 overall record, the team is making a strong push through the playoffs. As the top seed in the CIF Division II bracket, the Dons will take on Del Norte in the semifinals, battling for a spot in Saturday's championship game.
BOYS BASKETBALL – CIF OPEN DIVISION QUARTERFINALS
#6 Cathedral Catholic at #3 San Marcos
Friday, Feb. 21 | 7:00 PM | at San Marcos High School
After a season packed with elite matchups and extensive travel to compete against the best on the West Coast, the Dons wrapped up with a 19-9 overall record, securing second place in the Western League. Their strong performance earned them the #6 seed in the CIF Open Division bracket, where they'll face a tough #3 San Marcos squad in the quarterfinals, aiming for a spot in the semifinals.

The Dons faced a challenging season, taking on top competition in San Diego while overcoming injuries along the way. Despite the obstacles, they secured second place in the Western League with a 19-8 overall record. Now, they're ready for a strong Open Division playoff run, heading on the road to take on #3 Mission Hills in a high-stakes quarterfinal matchup.

#6 Cathedral Catholic vs #11 San Dieguito Academy

The Dons fought hard all season, overcoming several tough one-goal losses and nine ties along the way. Their resilience earned them a first-round home playoff match, where the #6 seed Dons will take on #11 San Dieguito Academy, looking to kick off their CIF Division I championship run with a strong start.

The girls soccer team put together an impressive season, capturing the Western League championship and finishing with a 14-5-3 overall record. Their strong performance secured them the final spot in the Open Division playoffs. This year, the Open Division features a new format, with the first round consisting of two games per matchup (1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, 4 vs. 5). Each team will play both home and away, with aggregate scoring determining who advances. As the #8 seed, the Dons will take on top-seeded San Marcos, battling for a spot in the next round of the playoffs.

Several Cathedral Catholic wrestlers are set to compete in the CIF Masters Tournament following a strong performance at last weekend's divisional competition. Freshman
