The Cathedral Catholic Track & Field team turned in a remarkable showing at the CIF Division 2 Championship on Saturday, May 17, at University City High School, with the girls capturing the CIF title, their 5th title in a row, and the boys earning a strong second-place finish in a highly competitive field.
The ladies dominated with 150.75 points, nearly 90 points ahead of second-place Point Loma (61), showcasing depth, consistency, and elite talent. They were outstanding across the board—scoring in every track event and every jumping event, scoring in 15 of 17 events.Â
On the boys' side, the Dons battled to the end, collecting 66.5 points—just shy of Mt. Carmel's 73.5. Their runner-up finish was fueled by an electric 4x100 relay, strong distance efforts, and a standout performance in the long jump pit.
