KUSIÂ Week 3 Raw Game Footage
Friday night's matchup wasn't just about football—it was Cathedral Catholic's annual Salute to Service Game, honoring military veterans and service members. The evening included pregame ceremonies, performances by the CCHS band along with the Navy Band Southwest's Harborside Brass Quintet, and a heartfelt tribute to those who serve. Proceeds from personalized memorial cobblestones supported a scholarship fund for students with financial need.
On the field, the Dons put on a thrilling show. In a back-and-forth contest between two perennial national powerhouses, Cathedral narrowly defeated Chandler (AZ) 24–23 in a dramatic finish. The game started with Chandler scoring first on a rushing touchdown, but a missed PAT ultimately proved costly.
The Dons responded in the second quarter when
Brady Palmer '26 scored on a 5-yard run. Just before halftime, Cathedral's defense made several big plays, most notably stopping a Chandler touchdown and forcing them to attempt a field goal.
Kevin Clark '27 blocked the field goal attempt, keeping the Dons ahead 7–6 at the break.
Chandler took the lead early in the third quarter with a QB scramble, but the Dons kept fighting. Palmer led another drive before 5-star recruit
Honor Faalave '27 broke free for a spectacular 73-yard touchdown run, giving Cathedral a 24-17 advantage in the fourth.
Chandler responded with a late touchdown on a slant route, but a mishandled snap on the PAT kept the Dons in front 24-23. Cathedral's offense clinched the victory with key first-down conversions, finishing one of the most exciting games of the season so far.
Stat Leaders:
The game fittingly began with a Chandler missed PAT and ended with another, as the Dons fought until the final whistle to secure the one-point win.
