Ayers Reich (150 lbs) turned in an outstanding performance at LCC's Hamada Classic, finishing seventh overall with an impressive 6–2 record. Excellent effort by Ayers.
At the ECI Tournament,
Lucas Michelsen made program history by becoming the Dons' first-ever ECI Champion.
Ayers Reich continued his strong season as well, earning third place in a highly competitive 150 lb bracket. We are extremely proud of both athletes.
The momentum carried into the Mission Hills Invitational, where
Lucas Michelsen once again dominated his bracket to claim another championship.
Aaron Sarmiento delivered a standout performance, finishing fourth after pinning the tournament's top seed. The team narrowly missed a top-10 finish, supported by strong contributions from
Makai Labayen,
Pablo Villegas,
Liam Brunton, and
Mateus Verardi, who wrestled deep into the evening and continued to score valuable team points. This group showed tremendous determination and pride throughout the event.
Overall, the wrestling team has kicked off the season with impressive performances across multiple tournaments. Early victories, historic achievements, and consistent effort have laid a strong foundation for what promises to be an exciting and successful year.
