Cathedral opened the 2025 season in the Butch Lee Tournament on December 9th with a hard-fought matchup against Carlsbad at home. The Dons struck first when Keira Tichbon finished a cut-back from Sienna Willard, who attacked the corner and found a driving Tichbon for the goal. Carlsbad answered after the Cathedral keeper came out for a tough challenge, leveling the match. Cathedral quickly responded as Lauren Gaviola buried a go-ahead goal to make it 2-1, but Carlsbad equalized once more on a corner kick after a loose ball bounced around the box, ending the season opener in a 2-2 draw.
