In the first round of the CIF-SDS Open Division Playoffs, #7-seeded Cathedral Catholic faced off against #2 Canyon Crest Academy in a high-stakes Del Mar Heights Road showdown. The Dons battled hard, taking sets two and three after dropping the first. With the match tied 2-2, Cathedral reached match point in the decisive fifth set, leading 14-13, but couldn't close it out. The Ravens rallied to win the final set 16-14, narrowly escaping with the 3-2 victory and keeping their perfect season intact. Final set scores: 16-25, 25-20, 25-22, 13-25, 14-16.
