Wednesday afternoon's showdown on Del Mar Heights Road saw Cathedral Catholic narrowly clinch victory over Madison in a thrilling 12-11 bout.

Madison seized control early, amassing an 8-2 lead by the 4th inning with an impressive seven-run surge. However, Cathedral Catholic mounted a remarkable comeback in the bottom of the inning, ignited by Alex Harrington's grand slam, swiftly narrowing the gap to 8-6 as they entered the 5th inning.

The momentum pendulum swung again when Madison's junior standout, Ryan Jackson, launched a three-run homer in the top of the 5th, extending their lead to 11-6. Undeterred, the Dons relentlessly chipped away, tallying runs in the 5th and 6th innings, setting the stage for a dramatic final act.
