Cathedral Catholic is proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of two of its standout roller hockey players, Junior forward Nathaniel Clark and Sophomore defenseman Vison Ha, who recently competed at the USA Hockey High School Nationals with their San Diego-based ice hockey team, the SD Central Jets. The team capped off an extraordinary season in which they won the 2A State Championship, by finishing third in the USA Hockey Nationals in the High School 2A division, held in Irvine, California, from March 26-30, 2025.
Clark made a significant impact during the national tournament, scoring a goal in four of the team's five playoff games. His offensive prowess and ability to rise to the occasion helped propel the Jets to the final stages of the competition. Excitingly, he scored a go ahead goal in the second quarter of the semifinal only to have their opponent tie things up with 28 seconds remaining in the game to send it to overtime and eventually a shootout. Meanwhile, Ha anchored the defense, showcasing his resilience and strong defensive presence against some of the top high school hockey teams in the country.
The SD Central Jets have built a strong reputation in the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League over the past decade, prioritizing player development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Their commitment to fostering both athletic and personal growth has made them a respected name in high school hockey circles. The team's remarkable run at Nationals for a second year in a row is a testament to the program's strength and the hard work and leadership of players like Nate and Vison.
Cathedral Catholic could not be prouder of these two student-athletes and their remarkable accomplishments. Their success on the ice is a reflection of their dedication, hard work, and the strong foundation built through their time in Cathedral's roller hockey program. As they continue to excel in both roller and ice hockey, we look forward to seeing them achieve even greater heights in their athletic careers.
