The Cathedral Catholic surf team recently wrapped up its season with two solid showings at Army Navy Beach in Carlsbad, closing out a competitive campaign in Division 3 of the Scholastic Surf Series. Under new leadership from coaches Gino Ragusa and Patrick Murphy, the team saw growth in both participation and commitment, laying a strong foundation for the future.

On March 8th, the Dons faced off against Woodrow Wilson High School. The team fell 78-42, but several Dons turned in strong individual performances. Liam Koett placed 3rd in Men's Longboard, while Luna Smith earned 3rd in Women's Shortboard and took the top spot in Women's Longboard. Carter Smyth added a 6th place finish in Bodyboard. The weather was clear and sunny with consistent, clean waves throughout the day, making for ideal surf conditions.

Earlier in the season on February 1st, the Dons matched up against Coronado, ultimately falling 78-37. Luna Smith led the way again, placing 4th in Women's Shortboard and 6th in Women's Longboard. Conditions were favorable that day as well, with warm weather and fun surf making for a great competition environment.

The team competed in multiple events over the course of the season and continued to build chemistry and experience with each outing. With a dedicated group of surfers and new energy from the coaching staff, the Dons are looking forward to building on this year's progress next season.
