The Cathedral Catholic golf team delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 City Conference Tournament, asserting their dominance with a clean sweep in both team and individual categories.
In the team competition, Cathedral Catholic left no doubt, finishing in first place by an astounding 43 strokes, posting a remarkable 1-over-par 361 as a group. The Dons' depth, consistency, and poise set them well ahead of the competition and showcased why they remain one of the top programs in the region.
The individual stroke play was equally impressive. Senior
Michael Riebe claimed the individual championship, carding a stellar 4-under 68. Right behind him was sophomore
Frank (Weiqiao) Zhang, who secured second place, followed by freshman
Yunze Wang in third, solidifying a podium sweep for the Dons.
The excellence continued into match play, where Cathedral again dominated:

2nd Place: Yunze Wang
3rd Place: Brady Neal
From top to bottom, the Dons showcased talent and depth, capturing every major title available at the City Conference Tournament. With seasoned veterans leading the way and rising underclassmen stepping up, Cathedral Catholic golf continues to set the standard for excellence this season. With momentum on their side and confidence running high, the Dons are playing some of their best golf. They now set their sights on the CIF San Diego Section Tournament starting May 19th, where they'll look to carry this success forward and make a deep run.
