The Cathedral Catholic Varsity Sailing Team faced tough conditions at the 2026 Rose Bowl Regatta last weekend in Long Beach, CA, as steady rain made for challenging yet exciting racing throughout the event.

Competing in a strong field, the Dons finished 6th overall in the Gold Fleet, highlighted by an outstanding performance from Owen Fretwell '26 and Lauren Howe '27, who placed 3rd in Gold A.

Both Dons crews showed depth and resilience across Gold A and Gold B rotations, gaining valuable experience in demanding conditions and competitive fleets. The team's ability to adapt and perform under pressure was on full display throughout the regatta.
