On Thursday, February 12 at 7:30pm, Cathedral Catholic closed out the regular season in style, earning a 58-42 victory over St. Augustine High School on Senior Night.

Earlier in the evening, the boys' seniors were celebrated alongside the girls' basketball team before warmups, setting the tone for a special night inside Claver Center. With an earlier loss to Saints still fresh, the Dons came in focused and determined to defend their home floor, and they delivered.

Cathedral wasted no time establishing control, jumping out to a 22-12 lead after the first quarter. The Dons' defensive intensity carried into the second, turning the game into a physical, hard-fought battle. Cathedral edged Saints 9-8 in the quarter to take a 31-20 lead into halftime.

Saints made a push early in the third quarter, but the Dons responded immediately, tightening up defensively and executing on the offensive end to shut down any hopes of a comeback. From there, Cathedral controlled the tempo and closed out the 16-point win.

Senior Kai Carlson led the way with 13 points, knocking down 5-of-6 free throws. Charlie Barajas also scored 13 points and added six rebounds. Sei'Mir Roberson finished with 11 points, two three-pointers, and three assists. Colton McQuaid contributed 10 points, including two triples, along with seven assists and three steals. Tyler Vosburgh added eight points and seven rebounds in a strong all-around effort.

Before the game, Cathedral Catholic honored its five senior players, Kai Carlson, Sei'Mir Roberson, Charlie Barajas, Mason Moeller, and Tyler Vosburg, along with senior managers Nikki Hank, Marianna Snidemann, and Carson Szekeres. The group was recognized with their families in front of a packed home crowd.

With the win, the Dons finish the regular season 19-9 overall and in second place in the Western League standings. Cathedral now awaits its placement in the San Diego Section playoff brackets, which will be released Saturday as postseason play begins.
