The Cathedral Catholic Dons continued their strong start to the season on Wednesday with a 6-2 victory over the Santana Sultans, as a talented young lineup helped propel the Dons to another early-season win.

Cathedral Catholic wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning. Anna Schumacher opened the scoring with a double to center field before Nia Talataina followed with another double to center, driving in a run. Brynne Silva capped the inning with an RBI single to center field, giving the Dons an early three-run lead.

The Dons extended their lead in the third inning with more timely hitting. Silva once again contributed with a two-run single, while Mia Ligon added a sacrifice fly to drive in another run, increasing the Cathedral Catholic lead to 6–0.

Talataina led the offensive effort with a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate, including a double and an RBI. Silva was equally impactful from the eight spot in the lineup, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs to lead the Dons' scoring. The continued production from Cathedral Catholic's younger players has been a key factor in the team's strong start this season.

In the circle, freshman Jen Faraimo got the start and was sharp early, allowing only one hit and no runs over two innings while striking out three. Kylie Such then pitched three innings in relief, giving up two runs on four hits to help secure the win.

Cathedral Catholic will aim to keep its momentum going when they face Otay Ranch on Saturday.
