Cathedral Catholic cross country began its 2025 season with a strong performance at the Bronco Invitational, overcoming very hot weather and stiff competition to secure several top finishes across divisions.
At the varsity level, the girls' team finished third overall in Division 1, led by a strong group of veterans.
Liesel Sellerberg '26 (6th),
Kristine Bickler '27 (7th), and
Grace Keefe '27 (8th) finished almost at the same time, setting a positive tone for a promising season ahead.
The boys' varsity team finished fifth overall, highlighted by an outstanding performance from
Nathan Wilber '26, who finished third in 9:50.6. Teammates
Spencer Todd '26 and
Aiden Angeles '27 also had strong top-30 runs, earning valuable team points.
In junior varsity action, the girls' JV team finished second overall, with four runners placing in the top 20.
Phoebe Brink '28 (5th), Andrea Radilla '27 (7th), and
Sadie Lang '27 (9th) led the effort, while
Lily Gonzales '28 (16th) contributed to the scoring.
The JV boys finished 11th, with strong races from
Gianluca Corona '27 (11th) and Freddy Derheimer '28 (21st).
The Cathedral freshman and novice girls impressed in their debut meet, finishing second overall behind strong performances from
Lainey Rall '29 (6th),
Delphine Rivera '29 (13th), and
Brigit Fairbanks '29 (14th). The freshman and novice boys concluded the day with competitive efforts in their first high school meet.
Despite the intense heat, the Dons demonstrated resilience and determination in every division. With the season underway, Cathedral Catholic cross country appears ready for another year of growth and success.
