The Cathedral Catholic girls basketball team continued its strong Western League start with a convincing 65-35 home win over Lincoln, improving to 3-0 in league play.

The Dons set the tone early, jumping out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. Crisp ball movement and relentless defense fueled a dominant first half, as Cathedral Catholic extended the lead to 39-19 at halftime. The Dons maintained control through the second half, leading 47-27 after three quarters before closing out the 30-point win.

Offensively, Cathedral Catholic shared the ball exceptionally well, consistently making the extra pass to find high-percentage looks. The Dons scored 42 points in the paint, often off strong interior movement, and added 25 points in transition, capitalizing on defensive stops and rebounds.

Bianca Slone led all scorers with an outstanding all-around performance, finishing with 22 points on efficient shooting (3-for-6 from three, 6-for-9 from two) and adding 7 rebounds and 6 blocks on defense. Mckinley Hanlon recorded a strong double-double with 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, anchoring the Dons on both ends of the floor.

Balanced scoring continued throughout the lineup as Khloe Lopez chipped in 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 steals, while "Abby" Abigail Rall added 8 points and 7 rebounds. "Addi" Addison Yang filled the stat sheet with 6 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals, helping control the tempo and facilitate the offense.

Defensively, Cathedral Catholic was just as impressive, forcing Lincoln to take difficult, contested shots throughout the night. The Dons turned Lincoln over 22 times and dominated the glass, securing 73% of the defensive rebounds, surpassing their pregame goal against a Lincoln team known for its rebounding strength.

Cathedral Catholic (14-5) will look to continue its Western League momentum on the road this Friday at Morse, tipping off at 6:00 PM to conclude the first round of league play.
