It was a memorable evening under the lights at Manchester Stadium as the Cathedral Catholic flag football team celebrated its Senior Night with a commanding 33-0 win over Oceanside on Thursday.
Before kickoff, seniors
Olivia Dianda,
Kaitlyn Hemmert,
Marianna Snideman, and
Sienna Willard were honored for their dedication and leadership. Each senior walked onto the field with their family, passing through a tunnel of cheering teammates joined by members of the field hockey and football teams, creating a memorable display of school spirit and community.
Once the game began, the Dons delivered a performance worthy of the occasion. The offense was clicking from the start, and the defense held firm to secure the shutout win.
Offensive Highlights
Quarterbacks
Emma Weeks and
Sabrina Jutronich led a balanced and explosive attack. Weeks completed 9 of 14 passes for 93 yards and one touchdown. Jutronich went 13 of 17 for 185 yards and four touchdowns.
Senior
Olivia Dianda shined on both sides of the ball, finishing with three receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Fellow senior
Kaitlyn Hemmert added three catches for 51 yards and one touchdown, while Rylen Eastlake contributed three receptions for 21 yards and one score.
Defensive Highlights
The Dons' defense was relentless, keeping Oceanside off the scoreboard all night. Madison Modic led the team with eight tackles/flag pulls, and Larissa Olivas added four.
Charlotte Castagnola and
Payton Steinberg each recorded interceptions, helping secure the shutout.
Coach's Perspective
"Our seniors have been such an important part of this team's growth," said the Cathedral coaching staff. "They've led throughout the season, and tonight was the perfect way to honor all they've given to this young program."
