The Cathedral Catholic flag football team earned two more wins this week, starting a new winning streak that included an important league victory.
Win vs. Mira Mesa – 25-6
The Dons' defense set the tone early with relentless pressure and key stops.
Charlotte Castagnola '27 and
Anna Janis '26 combined for eight flag pulls, while Janis and Maddie Modic '26 applied constant pressure on the quarterback, totaling seven hurries. Janis also broke up two passes and made a highlight-reel, touchdown-saving flag pull after chasing down a runner for 40 yards.
Sophia Fleming '26 contributed a crucial touchdown-saving stop, helping the defense stand strong with a goal-line stand and a turnover on downs.
On offense, quarterback
Sabrina Jutronich '25 completed 19 passes for over 150 yards, threw two touchdowns, and rushed for another, gaining 50 yards on the ground.
Rylen Eastlack '27 and
Olivia Dianda '27 led the receiving core, with 4 and 5 receptions, respectively, for more than 40 yards each.
