The #2-ranked Cathedral Catholic girls tennis team continued its dominant run through league play last week, securing two decisive victories to move to 13-1 overall and 8-0 in Western League competition. The Dons defeated #7 La Jolla on the road, earning a 12-6 team victory with strong play across all courts.
Scarlett Lee led the singles with decisive 6-1, 6-2 wins, while Cathedral's doubles teams performed nearly flawlessly.
The partnership of
Jenna Yablonicky and
Samantha Rich won all three of their matches (6-2, 6-0, 6-1), and
Marisa Eiguren and
Peyton Suiter followed with a solid 6-1, 6-3 performance.
Maria Gurchumelidze and
Caroline Cabral completed the doubles dominance with a trio of wins (6-3, 6-1, 6-1), helping secure the team victory.

Back on their home courts, the Dons kept their momentum alive with a 14-4 victory over Francis Parker.
Jenna Yablonicky started strong with a commanding 6-0 singles win, and
Samantha Rich led the way with a clean 3-0 singles sweep (6-2, 6-2, 6-2).
Caroline Cabral added two solid singles wins (6-1, 6-1), and the Dons' doubles team once again showed their strength.
Grace Gazzo and
Scarlett Lee earned a hard-fought 7-6(5) tiebreak victory, while Gazzo and
Selah Scott teamed up later for back-to-back wins (6-4, 6-3).
Gabriella Norris and
Celine Karyodisa (6-4, 7-6(7)) secured a couple of doubles victories. Taking advantage of the opportunity, JV swing players
Sutton Kalklosch and
Poppy Namazy (6-2) also grabbed a doubles win.
