The Cathedral Catholic Inline Hockey team opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion, skating past Del Norte 8–3 to set the tone for the year ahead.
Junior defenseman
Vison Ha led the offensive charge, scoring four times in a standout performance. Senior
Brady Nelson added a three-goal hat trick, showcasing the Dons' firepower, while senior
Vigo Garcia capped the scoring with the team's eighth goal of the night.
After a tightly contested start that saw the game tied 2–2 in the second period, the Dons seized control. Freshman goalie Conner Brae made several crucial saves during that stretch, shutting down multiple Central Jets ice hockey teammates who suit up for Del Norte. His composure in net sparked the momentum shift, and Cathedral responded with three second-period goals to build a commanding 5–2 lead heading into the final frame.
With steady defense and continued offensive pressure, the Dons closed out the 8–3 season-opening win in impressive fashion.
Cathedral Catholic returns to action on Wednesday, February 18, at 7:30 p.m., against Westview as they look to keep the early momentum going.
